Severe drum map confusion

In the Drum Editor, I’m extremely confused about the value of the Map combo box (lower left).

Let click and select a particular drum map. The combo box still says “No Drum Map”, but the in the editor it does show the tracks according to my drum map. Also, when I select the track in the Inspector, the Drum Map combo box have the name of my drum map.

So why does the Drum Editor say “No Drum Map”? No matter what map I select, the editor updates correctly but it always says No Drum Map. That seems like a bug but perhaps there’s something I’m misunderstanding?

And while we’re here, another thing that I occasionally run is that even after I set a drum map for my track, when I go to the Lower Zone (bottom pane of the Project window), the editor is back to Key Editor instead of Drum Editor. No idea why it does that.

Thanks
Bernard

I cannot reproduce this in Cubase Pro 14.0.20. Which Cubase version are you on?

The screenshot is from Cubase 13 on PC.

Where did you recognize that from? The light title bar? (I skipped 13…)

Hey Bernard,
I really like your color scheme, would you be so kind to give the the RGB values of your main background color, pretty please?

Thank you, of course I could have used a color picker myself if I thought of it, but obviously I am having a slow day… :man_facepalming:

Just installed Cubase 14, I still have that symbol.

I installed Cubase 14, hoping that it would get rid of the problem. There was a slight improvement.

When I change the drum map in the Drum Editor, the Inspector shows the new drum map for the selected drum track. The Drum Editor shows the right list of tracks. But the combo box still stubbornly refuses to show the current drum map, it’s stuck on a particular drum map.
