I’m making instruction pdf file for beginner class.
today I wanted to explain about some sus chord and here is what I want to do.
- I want to shorten first 2 measures which shows sus, sus2 chord (with explanation txt.) to middle of whole page and make staff size bigger so that notes looks bigger as well.
is there any way to archive this?
- so I tried this method :
In the Engrave mode, I tried note spacing by click one of little square box and tried short cut Alt + X (opt + x) and I noticed that blue square box is now turned to red. I wonder why it’s red now… seems like something is going wrong but not sure what it is.

I would consider every single system as a flow itself. This is what I would do:
- Go in configuration mode and add one flow per system (in your case, 3). The first flow will have one bar, the second one bar, the third 4 bars).
- Write down your music
- In Layout options( Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + L ) → Page setup → new flows: select Allow on existing page
- In the same menù, Show flow headings, select Never
- Always in Layout options, adjust your Rastral Size (in Page setup) and
Vertical Space according to your personal taste. My final result is the following (Rastral size 1 and vertical justification approx. 50%, did not touch any other parameters).

just followed your instruction and it looks exactly how I want them to be.
I just started using Flow, and seems its complicated but I think I started understand what it does.
