Show/Hide Dockable Mediabay Key Command?

Anyone know where I can find a Key Command to show/hide the new dockable Instrument Rack/Mediabay? I’ve had a good look through the Key Commands list but can’t seem to find it.

Alt + T

Alt + T doesn’t work for me. I have customised lots of key commands in Cubase 7.5 and it seems Cubase 8 has automatically imported my key commands. Are you able to tell me the name of the function in the key commands list that hides the dockable windows because I can’t seem to find it?

it is in keycommands, but don’t remember what it’s called

I’ve found a key command called ‘Toggle Rack Tabs’ which will switch between the Mediabay and VST Instruments tabs but still can’t find one that closes the tabs all together. Are you saying that you can completely close them with a key command?

yes, that’s what I’m saying. If you haven’t found it by then, I’ll be back at my desk in a few hours and I’ll search for my hotkey.

By the way, did you look in the manual at the hotkey list and see if they show it?

I was pulling my hair out looking for this in the manual. I found it1 in the key commands under Editors

Yes, that’s it. For anyone who’s wondering, It’s in the Editors category and it’s called ‘Show/Hide Rack’.

Thanks for the help!

It’s option/alt-t

There really should be a sticky on this subject. This is the sixth topic on it I’ve come across so far in less than 24 hours.

Edit: fixed

Take a look how easy its made is Studio One 2. On bottom it have docked transport and at right side there is 3 buttuns: edit, browse, mix. If you click it once (!) - docked window apears in right place. No confuse, no mess, no workspaces needed. Oh dear. Why Im addicted to Cubase ? Still have hope they finally make windows handling normal and modern…like they did with mediabay.

Actually it’s just alt+T here … maybe a windows/mac difference.

Sorry, I was trying to communicate mac/windows simultaneously.

OK I think he has the same problem as me and it is that the “alt” key suspends channel linking. In fact I cant use alt+ anything. Help on where to change that would be appreciated. I have looked in the manual but I don’t see it and can’t find it in key commands.

I don’t think you can remove ALT from channel linking, just like you can’t remove it from also thinking you are about to access a menu accelerator.

However, the action you are going to take shouldn’t involve trying to do something with channel links in the period of time you are finishing the keystrokes that involve the ALT key. In other words, it isn’t a problem.

I found the problem. It was my netgear wireless software I found it uses ALT+ n,c,and t. After I stopped it and let windows control it I could use them in C8.

Thanks for helping. JM

Is it possible to hide the Media Rack and VSTi Rack that takes up a third of the screen on the right side?. I’m not able to resize it either.

Thanks

All the best

Alt-T

Edit: this thread looks so confusing because a moderator combined multiple threads.

Thanks so much!!!

lol, I forgot about those pesky external apps with keyboard capture routines running… I have a few of those, and always takes me a few WTF moments before I do the facepalm.
