Show - Hide Notation?

Hello,

I have searched for help in the Manual to no avail?

  1. When I ’ HIDE ’ say a note or a rest and want to ’ show it ’ again, how is this done without affecting the entire layout?

  2. Also I recently had another problem where I wanted to remove the notes entirely and normally when I do I usually automatically get the appropriate REST symbol equivalent.

However with this latest Notation, I have three consecutive bars that when I remove the Notes (3 Bars x 4 counts in each bar) I get blank bars?
