Just a little idea for a new feature. I tend to work on a rather large screen in full-screen mode, and I can’t always see which note value is currently selected without turning my head to the left side of the screen. In the interest of rapid note entry it would therefore be convenient if the caret showed the currently selected note values, dotted as the case may be.
This has been suggested before and we’re a bit resistant to the idea because it adds some complexity in other areas (e.g. we’d need extra info on the caret to show voice direction when inputting notes longer than a half note etc.) but I certainly don’t rule it out altogether as a possibility for the future.
