I’ve only tested this on my laptop (MS Surface Studio), but when I close a project in Cubase 15, it takes 15 - 20 seconds for the hub come up. Very annoying! But if my laptop is on the internet, the hub returns fairly fast. This didn’t happen in Cubase 14. I dont like to use internet on my work-DAW system. It seems that Cubase 15 is “calling home” or whatever and messing things up. Anyone else having this issue?
Interesting point, and I would recommend to Steinberg to give the option to users to decide to be OFF the web and remove the app calls to the internet if they prefer to.
I find the number of plugin services deciding to run, call the web, install services etc.. all quite disturbing and a risk for the system stability imo.
Had to disable a Steven Slate service that was launching itself today.
If you turn off online content from the hub (there is an option for this there, as far I can remember) the result will be different? I’m not using my DAW computer now.
Actually, they do ![]()
I prefer Steinberg’s method BY FAR above other vendors, or even how Cubendo 14 accesses web-based material. C15 now launches your default browser for this content rather than having the Cubase application itself request the data. This is fabulous for security-minded folk who don’t like applications making direct calls to the web when they don’t have to!
Thanks Thor, that seems to have solved it
