Signal coming from mic but won't record

Hi, I am using Cubase Pro 13 on Windows 11. I recently installed a new Focusrite Scarlette 2i2 gen 4 sound card and I think I have it hooked up properly with Cubase but I can’t record from my mic. I can see the signal coming through in the mix console, but the signal doesn’t make it to Stereo Out. See attached JPG for my settings. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Zaffer,

first of all, thank you for posting all these screenshots - that goes a long way and helps a lot :+1:.

Your mic is attached to the right stereo input channel of your audiointerface and you are recording the left stereo input. As a result, no signal on your track. You just need to switch the input of your mic either at your physical interface or the routing in Cubase.

Btw: Why don´t you set up a dedicated mono input for your mic?

Thanks Reco 29 – that worked and I made a mono bus.
