Groove Agent SE 6 with Cubase 15 Pro seems to have replaced “Patterns” with “Player” This works normally with all the Kits I previously had. I purchased Simon Philips Jazz Drums. A list of potential patterns show under “Player” as they do with all other Kits but every one is almost exactly the same rhythm and none of them reflect, in any way, the Kit chosen.
There is a central Panel which shows a Style and when the Jazz Kit is loaded and an example pattern is selected under “Player” it uses a style from a completely different Kit.
Have things changed that much? Am I using this completely wrong or are the two things incompatible?
I have found the issue and found a workaround. If you use any another kit in a project before using Simon Philips Jazz Drums, the preset patterns of the original kit remain as the default style. It makes changing an existing project a little long winded,
The workaround is not to use another Kit before using Simon Philips Jazz Drums.
I have not checked it out but this may not be isolated to Simon Philips Jazz drums and might be a generic issue when changing kits in Cubase 15 Pro.
Thanks for your suggestion. I now know that this is not isolated and seems to be one of a catalogue of problems with Cubase Pro 15 so I am going to carry this, and other issues, on in other existing posts. I am back on 14 for now.
Another problem (icons appearing incorrectly) was solved by quitting everything and deleting the preferences folder for Groove Agent SE6 (only). They will be recreated after GASE6 restarts.
