A little thing that is driving me nuts. Often, when a note that is not beamed into a group is entered on the middle leger line of a staff, the stem points upward and I have to go through the score and parts to flip those notes to make the downward direction. When it is connected to other notes in a beam group, the stem defaults to the stem directions of those notes. Is there a way in layout options to fix this so that I do not have to go through this tedious process? Do I have to input this option with every project or can it act as a default for all projects I work on?
There’s an Engraving Option for whether notes on the middle staff line should default to stem-up or stem-down, and indeed whether they should follow the surrounding context.
