Hi
the title pretty much says it all. Trying to use SL 11 in Cubase 12 as an extension and pretty much all the preset boxes are empty. (Also tried the standalone app and it was the same.) Are there any presets? I looked in the preferences preset folder browser and it was empty. Trying to get into using SL and it’s my first real go at it, but it seems something is missing. By the way, I’m on a Mac, OS 12.7.6.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Many of the preset boxes are there for you to fill out and save for yourself, that is, they are for personal settings.

So there are no helpful factory presets? Weird.
There should be in some of the modules.
But mostly the modules are quite simple to get, and selfexplanatory, when there are not too many parameters to tweak.
OK, thanks for the info. One or two of them have a couple of options, but most of them are empty, when it would be really helpful to have settings for a starting point that you could edit. Izotope RX has a much better selection to get things started, so I found myself switching back to that for quite a few things. Also, the integration with Cubase is a bit flaky, so we’ll see how useful it proves to be.
The ARA is flaky, but that’s Celemonys and Presonus fault, since it’s their creation, it’s the same with other DAWs too

OK, so I’m not the only one having this experience!
I’m getting used to the fact that often you can only apply one module before it stops working and you have to save, close and reload the song, or that I’m looking at a UA VST effect which stays blurred and unusable until you faff around with the preview / bypass buttons a few times, or the fact that I see something called ‘archive’ in the history section, which, when you hover over it with the cursor, says it’s to restore something, but when you look in the manual to find out how, exactly, there is absolutely no mention of ‘archive’. The manual is dreadful - some of the buttons that feature in the ARA version in Cubase aren’t mentioned at all, but they are mentioned in the Cubase manual. Where’s the logic in that? Put ALL the information in BOTH manuals…
UADx/Spark effects behave that way in many DAWs, like Cubase and ProTools and probably Logic as well, so it’s not only their VST plugins. This has been discussed over at the UA forum. It has nothing to do with SpectraLayers. UA has told the blurry GUI is an auth issue.
Good to know, thanks. Weird that it doesn’t happen if apply the same effects in Cubase itself, but if I apply them in the Spectralayers extension it does… Anyway, they work eventually, so I can live with that.
Yeah, it’s weird.
It happens sometimes for me in Cubase and Nuendo, and WaveLab as well (all VST3 hosts). The plugin is all blurry until I have selected a preset in it, or passed some audio through it. But not every time. And not every time in SpectraLayers either.
Haven’t tried AU or AAX variants myself but ProTools users have reported the issue on the UA forum.
