I am loving the new Kerning Pairs Editor, but I can’t seem to adjust the kerning of the altered bass slash independently from the descender of the maj’s J. Adjusting the slash on a maj7 chord brings the slash too close on 7 chords that don’t have descenders. Is there something I’ve missed?
This rings a bell… I think the maj7 is kerned separately from the 7, IIRC.
Yes, it seems to take the depth of the J’s descender into account, but still treat the 7 and slash as a single kerning pair, resulting in this inconsistency. Perhaps there’s a function in the kerning editor I haven’t found yet?
I think it’s not intentional. Kerning editor is brand new and there are a few kinks to work out. I’m sort of speaking beyond myself here.
I agree that this doesn’t look quite right. I’ll ask my colleague Graham, who’s been working on all this stuff, to take a look when he gets a chance.
