Really struggling on finding how to mix ‘real’ notation with slash notation…If i select a bar and choose a bar and select ‘normal notes’ all will change to normal notation. In the attachment I just want the Piano (last 2 beats of the bar) to show normal notation…how do `I do this please.
Select the last 2 beats of the piano, ctrl-click and in the context menu Voices > Change voice to > up-stem Voice 1 (or new upstem voice if none has been used so far) should do the trick.
‘Select the last 2 beats of the piano, ctrl-click and in the context menu Voices > Change voice to > up-stem Voice 1 (or new upstem voice if none has been used so far) should do the trick’
This adds a second voice so now I have rests etc
Is there any way to do this without it adding rests etc…
No, but it doesn’t take long to select the bar, deselect the rest on the second beat and go Edit > Remove Rests.
Or checking “starts voice”/“ends voice” in the properties panel.
I was stumbling over this as well.
Well, in this video tutorial on lead sheets:
John Barron at 33:30 does exactly what Marc describes, but he does not get rests. Is he cheating?
John isn’t cheating. He selects the whole bar and changes it to a slash voice, not part of a bar.
