Slow Audio mixdown

Hey guys, I came back to Cubase Pro recently.
Whenever I export an audio mixdown, even with no plugins at my audio tracks, or vst instruments,
it is very slow comparing with other Daws or older versions of Cubase that I used to work long time ago.
It’s something like x2 speed - with no plugins at all, I say it again.
In a full mixing project with plugs etc, the process can be slower than a realtime export.
I’m on mac OSX Sierra - a 2010 12 cores machine RME - Fireface 802.
Any ideas or reasons about this? Perhaps some tweaks that could speed up the export?

Cubase is very slow to export, I agree. Often slower than realtime for me, especially when using UAD plug-ins.
