Small configuration issue

Hi, The red box should say “Percussion 1,” but instead it’s a number.
How do I change the group name?
Thanks…

It’s the abbreviation version of your group name . You can edit it. The normal name is probably too long to appear.

I tried changing it by going directly to the group staff, but it still doesn’t work. Is there some function that allows, for example, re-pagination of groups? I haven’t found it, but maybe someone knows about it.

Right-click the group name.

Jesper

There’s not enough space to write percussion 1 in the score since the group is only one instrument.

I tried, but strangely, the “abbreviated” name is displayed instead of the full name.

As I said, there is not enough space to write the full name, so Dorico uses the short name instead.

The second group, however, is configured correctly. Strange.

Because the second group contains two staves, so its group name is longer, so it can display the full name.

Again, Percussion 2 have enough space because the group is two instruments.

Perc 1 might work, but then there’s not enough space for the bracket.

I don’t see your first reply (it seems deleted).

Anyway, I understand now.

Thanks everyone…

However, there is something that needs to be changed. If you look at the image, it seems that if the distance is sufficient, then the “full name” is inserted, otherwise the “shortened” version is inserted.

It would be better if I were allowed to edit it myself if I wanted to.

Otherwise, there’s no consistency.

I hope this is a problem that can be fixed.

And, that would increase the distance between the staffs to make place for the full name.

Yes, but even if I enter “P. 1” and “P. 2,” it doesn’t accept it.

As you can see from the image.

The problem, however, is also on the first page, where the instruments are listed with their full names, not their abbreviated names. Look at the image; it’s from the first page.

Okay, let’s hope they fix it.
Thanks…
