Small Idea to Help Navigate Features and Requests

Hello everyone,

first of all, thank you for the continuous work on bug fixes and new features. It’s great to see how actively VST Live is being developed.
As a user, however, it has become a bit challenging to keep track of whether a certain issue or feature is already being worked on or is planned for the future.
Would it be possible to add a small overview on the changelog page showing which topics are currently in progress and which ideas or features are already under consideration?
I think this could help reduce duplicate requests, and shows on which topics the developers working.

Best regards,
Antric

Hi @Antric

Thank you for the flowers. But this is only possible with you and community. It’s a great community. Thank you all!

… yes, we are already thinking that. Just give us a bit more time - we’ll do something.

See you,
Michael.

Great idea, I like the forums and the interaction with developers, hovewer it is a very unefficent way for both the users and developers to keep track of reported bugs.

The search function is absolutely sufficient for staying up-to-date. Can you imagine the amount of work it takes to keep track of all the threads we’ve created? Or will the developers just sit here on the forum instead of doing their job, namely fixing bugs and developing new features?
If you create a thread about bugs or a feature request, please bookmark it and keep track of it yourself!
Update it as needed if there’s no developer response or if something new needs to be added.
Otherwise, it will only distract and waste the developers’ energy!
So, I’m personally categorically against it! Those who search for the answer will find it! There’s no need to take everything to the extreme.

Here’s a simple example of the worthlessness of your idea. What you’re proposing has already existed for a long time.

How much time was spent on this completely unnecessary feature? And it’s not even updated anymore, because there’s probably not enough time for it. Don’t distract the developers with this nonsense just because you have trouble using the search.
Even if you created a topic that already exists, there’s no harm in clicking the flag at the bottom and contacting a moderator. They’ll delete the duplicate. That’s what specially trained people are for.

@sergeantt67
I was thinking about this a bit differently.

I assume there is already an existing list of potential new features that the developers would like to implement, based on the inputs of the feature request topic. If they could share this list, it shouldn’t create too much additional work for them – and of course that is not what I want to cause.
Regarding bugs, I’m with you. In that case, I always try to find a solution in the forum first before asking a question or creating a new topic.

Maybe it would also help if things were phrased in a slightly more friendly way as I just shared this as an idea

Best regards
Antric
