Hi! So I’m having on I am having a similar issue and this is now happening monthly. This time the soft e-lisencer is gone completely. I tried to enter an older activation code and It tells me to download the installation helper. The installation helper always fails. so it never completes.

After the eLicenser service ends, upgrading your eLicenser-based product to Steinberg Licensing will no longer be possible.
When is the end-of-service scheduled?
The end of the eLicenser service is scheduled for May 2025.
If your computer can support a more recent version of Dorico (and since you’re on Windows, that should certainly be the case), it would be a good idea to update to the latest version of Dorico before the eLicenser servers are switched off.
If nothing else, you will be free of these kinds of problems with the Soft-eLicenser not being reliable on your computer, because Dorico 4 and later use the newer and much more reliable Steinberg Licensing system.
You will also of course benefit from a lot of new features and improvements added to Dorico since May 2020, when Dorico 3.5 was released.
If you are worried about the cost of updating, if you start a 60-day trial of Dorico 5 today, you will have an opportunity to buy an update to Dorico 5 at a reduced price within the trial period.
Hello!! So it has been a couple months and I now have a new computer. I was about to move Dorico over but considering the eLicenser program is going to end soon, I want to upgrade. I am short on cash for the moment so any free trial or upgrading discount from Dorico 3.5 would be great.
So, how do I go about updating and putting the newest version of Dorico on my new computer?
I cannot find my Soft-eLicenser number. I am having a hard time even opening the eLicenser control center.

I would think they will have a discount sale before the old licensing servers are turned off to help everyone update to the new version. Perhaps check back at the Steinberg site from time to time, although presumably you will get an email from their newsletters.
@theannaphilharmonic This might be useful:
a composite of all version history(s) up to early v5. When you install there should be an install button for the latest v5 Version history for the current version.
This means you can see what has progressed since your v3.5.
And there is the usual Steinberg Help as you probably know, just adding it here for anyone else seeing this.
Search and use the filters to find Dorico etc.
If your 3.5 license is on your old computer and not on a dongle, upgrade on your old computer first; that will make upgrading your “license” far less complicated.
Once you have the licensing under the new system straightened out with the Steinberg Activation Manager (SAM), then do a fresh install on the new computer, after which you can remove the activation (and the program) from your old one.
The issue is that it says there is no license. It’s almost as if the license has been wiped somehow and I am completely lost on what to do. Have found nothing on the forums about that particular issue.
It’s probably best to message Daniel directly. Above on his previous reply, click on his name, Click Message to (private) message him so he can check everything step-by-step with you.
Have you been to the Steinberg site directly to see if your license is recorded there? Realize that some users find it has been registered under a second (older?) email address, if that is worth checking in your case.

Anna, I’ve had a look at your account, and it looks like you successfully reactivated Dorico 3.5 most recently back in May of last year. You should find that you can follow the reactivation workflow described here:
This should work on your new computer, provided you do it before the eLicenser server shut-down, which is coming in May.
