Softtube ≠ Nektar?

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to understand if to buy a controller, and which one, for working with Cubase and I was strongly interested in Softube Console fader mkIII but this one seems to be very appealing too and for a very lower price…
Did anyone try both of them so to have a reasoned comparison?
Thanx,
Art

p.s. Has anyone seen the video about Nektar by Dom Sigalas? It’s only for his channel subscribers…

Maybe this video can help you

The big disadvantage of the Softube Console One is that you can’t control all plugins with it. At the moment only Softube, UAD and Fabfilter plugins work.
And you can’t control any delay or reverb plugin with it. Only dynamic, EQ, distortion. No instruments either.
You don’t have a fader either. You just have to know exactly what you want to do with it.

Hi @Pablin_Drummer2, this is exactly the video I casually watched on YouTube and started my curiosity for CS12, which I didn’t know at the time…

Hi @mackie1402, I was referring to this Softube Console, the fader model which Dom Sigalas presented in his video… It seems to be very powerful but it’s a bit pricy too…

Honestly, this video and its very good explanation made me pull the trigger. I’ve been with him for a few days and I like him more and more.

I’m very curious too but I would like to hear some impression from people which used Softube Console fader mkIII too, apart from Dom Sigalas (I really don’t understand why he reserved the video about Nectar only to subscribers…)

The two controllers are so different they can’t really be compared.

Fader has no plugin or channel strip control…only multichannel volumes plus some drive and filters if you load the plug.

CS12 is very much for channel and plugin control.

If you only got fader you’d still spend a lot of time on the mouse for eq, plugins etc, with CS (or the non fader console) you can do a lot more on the controller…but obviously no multi fader control.

The fader was really designed to be used alongside the

Thank you Grim, that’s a big difference, actually…

…alongside the… ?

oops…alongside the non fader console one.

Got it! :pray:t2::+1:t2:
