Soloing a track forces unrelated tracks to be soloed as well

[System Specs]

  • Cubase Version: Cubase 14.0.41.374

  • OS: macOS Tahoe 26.5.2

[Issue Description] When clicking the Solo (S) button on a specific track, a few other unrelated tracks are automatically and forcefully soloed along with it.

[Steps to Reproduce]

  1. Open a project with multiple tracks.

  2. Click the Solo (S) button on Track A.

  3. Observe that “Ambience Pad” & “Main Riff” get soloed simultaneously without clicking them.

[Expected Result] Only the selected track (Track A) should be soloed (unless explicitly linked via Quick Link, Group, or Solo Defeat).

[Actual Result] Unintended/unrelated tracks are forcefully soloed together.

[Additional Context]

  • Tested with Quick Link turned off.

  • No Solo Defeat or Grouping applied to the affected tracks.

I’ve seen this. I’ve found when you change things around a lot like I do this tends to happen. I get tracks that are linked to others that when I solo it doesn’t solo the link track or effect track. The more complicated things get the more it seems to get messed up. I think it’s been like this for years.

I don’t bother. I just manually unmute or mute other tracks. Also I use the top global mute and solo buttons which helps sometimes.

I unlinked tracks and linked again. And then Everything fixed.
