"Solution" Protocol

This may be a weird question and has nothing to do with the use of the program but I will ask it anyway. What happens when I ask a question and several people answer it, all contributing good replies? I never know who to credit with the “Solution”. Does someone get some type of “credit” for sending the solution or is it just so other folks asking the same question can see a response? I want to give credit where credit is due, but often don’t know which respondent gave the actual solution since several may have provided helpful information.

It’s not a huge deal. Yes, whoever wrote the post that you flag as Solution does get credited with a solution; this shows up when you click on their avatar. So it’s considerate in that sense.

But more importantly, a topic with a solution shows up with a filled checkbox in the topic list:

And when someone visits a topic with a solution, the solution shows up immediately under the first post.

When there are several replies that contribute to a solution…I don’t know. I guess you could pick the one that was most helpful. Maybe someone else has a better idea.

asherber,
Thanks for the lightning fast response. O.K. That clears it up to a certain extent. At times, I wish I could credit 3 or 4 people with the solution as all the responses combined together actually solve the issue. I’ll just pick one that comes the closest by itself.
By the way, You are getting the credit for this solution. : )
