(Solved) Alt+R opens a score window with no page, and endless hrisontal view

Ctrl+R opens a score editor window with no notes (or a black page only), and endless hrisontal view. So I can’t even reach the X to close the window (can close with minimize tho)

But if I open the score in the scoe editor in the lower pane,m everything is ok!

And it’s the same in Cubase pro 15 as in 14.

Win 11, Cubase pro, one year old laptop.

But:

Not in my desktop studio, which runs on win 10. Ctrl+R opens score editor in the lower pane.

I think you are describing a bug that I have seen once or twice, but I’ve never been able to reproduce it. The bug is that the default window size gets a value that is a lot bigger than your actual screen.

However, I think there’s a simple fix: use the Windows key + the arrow keys to snap it to your screen. eg Windows+left to snap to the left half of the screen, Windows+Up to maximise to the current screen.

Hi,

Does it always happen on your system?

If yes, could you try in the Cubase Safe Start Mode [Disable preferences], please?

Or you can even try to trash Cubase preferences folder, to remove all Cubase preferences.

Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% \Steinberg\Cubase X_64

Where the X is the Cubase version (for example 14).

That did the trick! Everything seems ok now. I didn’t know about the windows key fiunction.

Thank you, guys!

Additional info:

The windows key + arrow trick fixed it in C14, win11. But when I open the same test project in C15, the same thing happens (score opened from score menu above get black, empty page with endless horisontal view), but the windows key trick fixed it again.

The window size seems to be remembered there after.
