*Solved* Cubase hangs on "Initializing VST Control Room" after installing Dorico Pro 5

Hey all.
Cubase 13 has been working great, but as soon as I installed Dorico 5, Cubase will NOT open, and always hangs on “Initializing VST Control Room”, and Dorico hangs up on initializing the audio engine. I found the support article from Dorico 4 about deleting common files and gave it a go. The files in the artice were not there, but once I deleted all files from the “Shared Files” folder Dorico opens perfectly fine. Cubase, however continues to hang on the Control Room, and won’t launch. I did delete both Cubase, Dorico, and all related Steinberg files, and re-installed Cubase 13’s latest version first, and it launched just fine. as soon as I reinstalled Dorico, the original problems occur all over again. Additionally, If I remove the “control room” file from the Steinberg App Data folder, Cubase launches fine, but (of course) the control room can not be enabled.

I’ve submitted a support ticket, but man I’ve got a paid gig, and can’t afford to lose more days waiting for support to respond. Hoping someone here has a solution!

System: Windows 11 Pro - Intel i9-14900K - 192GB RAM - Cubase 13 Pro v13.0.51

Okay, so some more trial and error, I solved the problem. The issue, strangely enough was coming from the Waves plugin Studio Verse running on the control panel inserts. I removed said plugin and all is right with my Steinberg world.

Cheers!
