(SOLVED) Impossible to edit Automation Events

I like the new Automation events in v3.7 but trying to move them is impossible, the moment I try to highlight any one of them and try and move them in any direction the screen zooms off to the right every time. I have shut down Cubasis and started a new project and replicated the Automation, the problem remains.
Has anyone else had this issue.
In my short video I am using a mouse, just left clicking on the screen to highlight an event causes the screen to zoom away!

I have the same issue, there might also be underlying problems with it as well, ie not performing the desired adjustments to the effects.

Hi ngakotika,
Welcome to the forum :slightly_smiling_face:
I don’t have any problems with the events not automating the particular parameters, I just can’t move them around because of the absolutely annoying screen jumping. The only way I can manipulate the events is to draw in new events with my pen, quickly tap on the event that was to be moved and then delete this event, a bit Heath Robinson but it gets the job done until Cubasis gets a new update with a fix :+1:

Hey, thanks for the update, I use the cubasis built in spin fx with automation, before the update it worked well but now it sometimes will work correctly and other times it’s a miss.

Hi Lars,
Have your team been able to find the problem that is making Automation editing virtually impossible with out the drawn in markers zooming off screen the moment I attempt to make any adjustments to them, if they have, is there a date we can look forward to for an update ?
At the moment, my only way round this is to double tap the screen and tap erase all marker points then proceed by drawing in new markers, it is a very, very, very frustrating and laborious task which I cannot avoid.

Hi @fixitmania53

The issue is aimed to be resolved in the next update, which is planned to be releases sometime soon.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a way to enter a specific value for each event? I’m trying to setup pattern switching for a midi aufx but it’s impossible to do via a drawn automation.

Hi Cambler,
If for example you want to turn a reverb on at bar 6 and then turn it off again at bar 10, this is what I would do,
With the reverb open,
1, enable the Write function (top right if reverb screen),
2, turn off the reverb power (top right reverb screen)
3, start song and tap the reverb ON at bar 6.
4, turn reverb power OFF at bar 10.
5, disable the Write function but leave the READ function active.
If this is to be continued through the rest of the song, open Automation, copy reverb ON event, position playhead ruler and paste at new position in song, same applies to the OFF event.
Drawing these events using the pencil tool is easy because the ON/OFF function is 0=OFF, 127=ON,
Hope this helps.

It is not possible to enter a specific value using the pencil tool, if you know the value you want to use, the only way is to draw a event, turn off the pencil tab and move the event up or down with your finger or e-Pencil until you reach the desired value displayed on the left, but unfortunately at the moment there is a problem when trying to move Automated events, they zoom off screen as soon as you touch them, this issue will be corrected in the next Cubasis update.

Thanks so much for the reply Mike. Sounds like I need to wait for the update and then develop some nimble fingers

I appreciate the tip about on/off automation and will keep that in mind. Unfortunately for pattern switching I need to hit values in small increments (1,2,3,4 etc ).

Thanks so much again!

Ah……in the last Cubasis update this feature of moving events more precisely was implemented, it is now easy to move a value in small steps…….thats when the screen zooming has been fixed of course lol
