(SOLVED) Unable to download ANY in-app purchase

It’s been known that 5ghz connections sometimes have weird issues, did you try to swirching to 2.4?

I had instances where things like streams etc would not run proper while whem i switched to 2.4 there wasnt a single hickup… couldnt tell you why…

I also avoided a lot of weird internet kinks by changing the DNS of my router and devices accordingly.

Alltho i must admit the issue here sounds like a NAT-like-ish issue.
But i dont know, i hope the issue gets sorted.

The problem is with my home FTTH Connection……
Not with mobile connection

@CJ_Monster is talking about a WLAN connection, not your mobile. You said you are an It-Tech, so you should know the difference.

From the beginning of this post I am trying to make you understand that the problem is when using an FTTH connection and you counter with 4G,5G , WLAN and other terms that you only use to hide the fact that you do not have a solution to the problem. Cubasis has already been removed, I don’t need your help anymore. I will report the problem to Apple

Hi pierluigiderioris,
I agree with you it is very frustrating trying to download HALion and it’s 1.8gb of data, if you could look back to when HALion was released with the Cubasis 3.6 update, you will see that nearly all of us suffered this prolonged hair pulling procedure, I was convinced I paid for something I was not going to get!
Steinberg then released a second mini v3.6.1 update that enabled any download data to be retained after a Failed To Download message, so re-downloading the plugin actually continues from where it previously stopped until you finally achieve full download :slightly_smiling_face: for me it took about 6 hours of continual downloading, but that was before the above mentioned mini update.
I’m sure if you re-installed Cubasis and grit your teeth whilst going through the download process you will eventually succeed as it did for all of us. Once it finally downloaded I was more than happy with the awesome presets it contained :+1:

So your main concern is how you want to download the iap’s, not that you get the iap’s of yout choice on your device… ok.

@CJ_Monster This the main thing you don’t want to understand.
This is a problem that support DON’T want to see.
With a little workaround can be probably solved by final user but what will happen when a real BIG problem appear ?
I don’t need a payed software without help from developer .
It’s more clear now ?

@LSlowak
I can tell you one last thing to give you proof that I am telling you the truth and that there is NO routing problem with my ISP. When you released version 3.6 I downloaded everything without any problem. Only after installing version 3.6.1 did the problems begin. I had removed it and then downloaded it again and with 3.6.1 you can no longer download even small IAPs. Now if you still say that it is my ISP’s fault, it means that we are really wasting time

Ok… the thing you dont understand is that everyone is trying to help you but it seems you want things only your way.

Your problem seems pretty much singular as everybody who had a problem with downloading the iaps (which was mostly only downloading the HAlion iap) had been resolved by the last patch.
Ìn your eyes nothing but Steinberg is the problem, it cant be yout router settings nor your internet provider nor your device… because other apps have no problems it only can be Steinberg’s fault, right?
Even tho, atm you are the only person with this specific issue (and thus everything points in a problem on your own end) it only can be appointed as an isssue at Steinberg’s end.

You give zero information… just “i have this connection and that device… downloading doesnt work” so now magically fix it with a flip of the switch and then you get mad when everybody tries to troubleshoot with you. And it comes across like you want to put in no effort to troubleshoot , just an easy fix without any effort,

What big problems are talking about? Cubasis is mainly download and install what you want/need and you are good to go…Cubasis has no frequent updates (like weekly or monthly} but rather a couple of them per year. This is why we all try to find a workaround with you because having Cubasisand it’s iaps on your device is the main concern. after that you are good to go.

I hope that you do understand that everybody is just trying to help and that our main objective is that you get everything on your device to start making music and that we (the community, outside of Steingberg themselves) are not concerned with if it’s downloaded via your desired method.

Nobody here has bad intentions towards you but you have been defensive andcombatative since the get go.

Anyways i hope everything works out for you in the end… we all love to see more Cubasis users in here and having an enjoyable time like the rest of us using Cubasis.

Good Luck, i hope things get sorted for soon.
Sincere,
CJ

@CJ_Monster
First of all thank you for your response and understanding.
Let’s try to slow down the discussion and bring it to a slightly more constructive level.
I explained that my problem started with version 3.6.1 (the version that was supposed to solve other download problems.)
In reality with version 3.6 everything worked normally and I downloaded everything without problems.
Immediately afterwards I had to erase the iPad and install everything again.
When I did it, however, version 3.6.1 had already been released and from that moment on everything stopped to work
Now I know that you are a competent person and tell me:
How can you believe that it could only be a problem for me and my provider when before the 3.6.1 update (a few hours before) everything worked perfectly?
If there were no problems why would they rush to release version 3.6.1?
If you search carefully in the forum you will find another person who has the same problem and he also solved it by downloading via 4G connection.
I can’t post the link because I don’t have permission to do so but I assure you it’s there.
This at least shows that I’m not alone.
It’s not even true that I’m behaving aggressively but I’m simply demonstrating and what I write isn’t taken into consideration.

My router is a FritzBox 7530 and my connection is an FFTH with TIM (Italy Provider)
I’ve asked to have the IP address of AWS to traceroute my connection but nobody has reply me…
For greater security I also inserted my iPad on a DMZ connection of the router (therefore without any Firewall) and everything is still blocked.
I understand that if the problem only affects a very few people it is very difficult to solve but I think I have no other information to provide for the solution of the case.
Anyway, thank you for your help which is certainly appreciated.

@CJ_Monster
Another thing that cab be useful is the following.
I have problem with ALL IAP purchases (even 20 mb download)
In other words the problem is not downloading massive data amount but all connection to the IAP Steinberg host.
Hope that Steinberg can give the IP of their AWS host to traceroute the connection and find where it is blocked.
Thank you for your help

Hi @pierluigideioris

We are sorry about your download problems.

I just gave it another try to download FM Classics with Cubasis 3.6.1 on the iPad 6 Mini, where things work as expected (see clip below).

Unfortunately we are unable to reproduce the problem, nor have heard about download issues from customers, after releasing Cubasis 3.6.1 which only adds the resume option for downloads already started.

Best,
Lars

Thank you for your reply.
I think we can close this case because we cannot found a real solution.

Thank you for your help

Bye

Hi @pierluigideioris

Here are a few more observations:

  • Do you run the latest iPadOS 17.3 update?
  • Could you give it a try to reinstall Cubasis?

IMPORTANT: Please make sure to manually backup all Cubasis-related files before deleting the app. Otherwise you will lose your projects and other files, once the app has been deleted.

Best,
Lars

Hi @LSlowak
May be we have near to solution.
I’ve discovered the last strange thing.
Al my attempts of Halion installation was made on 5Ghz Wireless connection
As a last test yesterday I’ve tried with normal 2.4 Ghz connection
Suprise!!
All works without any problem.
Switching back to 5Ghz the problem appear again…
After more and more switching from 2.4 and 5 Ghz the final sentence is
Wireless connection problem and not ISP

I’ve checked and checked difference from 2.4 and 5 Ghz but nothing found
IPv4 only, WPA-2,WPA-3 protection, same Key.
Are identical!!
But Cubasis IAP are allowed only on 2.4 Ghz

Before you go mad is better lo leave the case.
I will use 2.4 Ghz connection but this remain a “unexplainable” case.

Thank you to all

So this was what @CJ_Monster suggested three days ago and where you just rejected it…

@JuergenP Yes, you’re right
I don’t know why but my answer to @CJ_Monster was wrong.
He was suggested my to switch to 2.4 GHz but in that moment I’ve undestand other thing (wrong)
Sorry and apologies for that.

Thank you to all

Hi pierluigideioris,
It’s good you decided to reinstall Cubasis 3 and have another go at downloading HALion, I am pleased for you :slightly_smiling_face:
Now you can enjoy making music like the rest of us, and as CJ_Monster said - we all help each other on this forum :+1:
