Some questions about Cubase after a hiatus (Related to current versions with MacOS & intel macs)

Hey fellow Cubase users,

I have not opened up cubase in about 3 years sadly. Last version I have is 12 pro, I believe, but I want to get back into it. I vaguely remember having some issues after the last update, some lag and crashes.

My system is an iMac i9 with 64GB Ram running Sequoia 15.7.4 - My questions are:

1: Is current versions of cubase still running on intel chips and is anyone here using this MacOS and have it running well?

2: Should I wait to upgrade to a silicon chip Mac studio (am I asking for trouble trying to run this on this machine that has quickly become outdated)

3: Purely out of curiosity, how has steinberg implemented AI into their latest releases?

Also if their is any other noteworthy plugins or staples i might find causing me troubes that come to mind please let me know.

Thank you!!

Hi,

Yes, Cubase 15 is still running on Intel macs and it’s fully compatible with macOS 15. Eventhough, Cubase 15 is optimized for Silicon processors. Yes, I’m running Cubase 15 on macOS 15 (on M1 Pro ), but I know, there are users running it on Intel Mac.

No, you can go for Cubase 15 now with your Mac.
