Some sane way to handle .gpk files?

So I’m wondering if there’s some way to handle location of .gpk files other than the current alternatives I know about: The folder with the audio files or a single “Independent” folder.

If I put them in the audio files folder then everything loads up quickly and nothing needs to be rebuilt, but I have the housekeeping nightmare of all these peak files sitting in with all the audio files. If I put them in an independent folder, that’s great, but when the session moves to another location or that folder gets scrubbed on closing (which is the only way to handle if you’re dealing with hundreds or thousands of audio files over time) then the session is slow to reopen.

Seems to me a better way would be to have an independent Peak file subfolder within the session or audio file folder (like the Backup.mon folder handles backups). Is there a way to do this automatically that I don’t know about? Perhaps some magical wild-card in the independent file folder path designation?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Currently, there is no other way. But I am considering a solution as you suggest, that is, to gather gpk file in a dedicated folder in the project folder (there will be a project folder in the future)
