Some Steinberg Stock Plugins with "Live" mode missing

I noticed that some Steinberg Stock Plugins are missing in VST Live Pro 2. Especially the ones like the Expander/MultibandExpander would come in really handy. I understand that some Cubase plugins can’t be implemented into VSTLive due to the missing latency compensation, but even some Stock Plugins with a “Live” Button are missing (and with the Live Mode activated they’d have no latency, right?).
Is there a specific reason for this?

Actually you currently can’t travel back in time
For which VSTL bundled plg you’re missing low latency button? Did you measure the questioned one’s actual processing latency?

Okay, perhaps I formulated that in a misleading way: i thought, that every Cubase pro stock plugin, which features a “Live”-Mode (hence has no processing latency when the Live Button is switched, according to the Cubase manual) is gonna be featured in VST Live 2. For example, the MultibandExpander from Cubase Pro has this Live feature when i load it up in Cubase, nevertheless it is not displayed in the VST Live Plugin List (Nor the Blocklist).

That’s what I meant, I know that some plugins, e.g. Revelation, can’t be used in VST Live because PDC is obviously not available when processing live

I wanted to know if there’s a technical reason for the Cubase Plugins (MultibandExpander, Expander, MultibandEnvelopeShaper,…) not being in VSTLive, or if that’s a problem with my Computer/Plugin Manager.

Thanks for the fast reply!

… if a Cubase Plug-In has latency, it’s not a candidate for VST Live. If the Plug-In has a Live-Mode, it’s a candidate. But the Plug-In Development team needs to create a “Live” only version of the Plug-In. Can you please name the plug-ins which you would to “see” in VST Live.

Thank you,
Michael.

I understand! I think the plugins I miss the most are the Multiband Stock Plugins (MultibandExpander, MultibandEnvelopeShaper, MultibandCompressor) and Frequency 2 EQ (although I didnt check FrequencyEQ on its latency in non-linear-phase mode yet).

Are there plans to gradually implement all Live-capable Cubase plug-ins in VST Live? (in the long term of course, the dev team is certainly busy enough at the moment :D)

Thanks, and keep up the good work!

Hi @Benjamin_Mueller

There is an app: Bertom Curve analyser. Its donationware, so you send say 10usd and you can not just analise/learn eq curves (say having a look what a pulltec eq does but measure processing latency and phase) I love it a lot. So you can measure for your own different eq combinations latency….

Think about a sandwich: you need to
Insert bertom (as sig gen)
Insert plugin
Insert bertom (again but as analyser)

You will love it

That sounds like a useful plugin!
I think for now, I’ll just stick to the Cubase mixer, it displays the processing latency for each plugin/insert separately (although the phase and curve features from Berton curve analyser do sound compelling)
