Sound coming out from both Windows 10 and Cubase

Hi,

I’m using a laptop and would like to have playback from both Cubase 10 Pro and Windows 10. Currently it’s only either DAW or Windows 10. I don’t want to connect my Audio Interface, just using the laptop speakers (can’t always carry around an interface, especially when travelling or on the plane).

And what exactly is the problem…?

Go to: Studio → Studio setup… → VST Audio System →
Tick “Release Driver when Application is in Background” and see if it solves your problem.

I found the issue, the Control Room in Cubase was switched off.
