Today I upgraded from Sonarworks Reference 4 to Sound ID. I only installed VST3 because VST2 & Cubase have short lives.
Everything is working as intended in Cubase 14. However in WL12, I open Sound ID, then in Sound ID, when I “add new preset” or “select calibration profile,” WL12 crashes/vanishes.
Any ideas? I’ll submit a ticket at Sonarworks, but thought I would check here first because it’s working in Cubase.
If there is a WL crash report for Windows 12 I need to know where to find it.
Yes PG. Im not sure whats going on.
It read like really bad AI, and quoted a similar issue from someone else a couole years ago, however there was no resolution.
Sonarworks has replied, and they want me to collect some data to send to them, and then possibly revert to an older version.
Im on Windows 10. The crash happens 100% of the time.
Under Windows, you can generate one crash dump from WaveLab if you do so:
While pressing the Alternate key (press first and maintain), select “Global preferences” from the WaveLab menu with the mouse.
In that case, there is a new tab called “Diagnostics”. There you can activate several functions.
Activate the option “Enable crash report”. Quit and relaunch WaveLab.
If a crash happens, one crash dump is generated and a dialog proposes to save it.
I did as you suggested, but today Sound ID opened like it should and once I made changes, it did not cause WL12 to crash.
So why both C14 and WL12 good today but yesterday C14 good and WL12 crash?
I don’t know. However today upon loading W10 I got a notice that there was a conflict between Reference 4 and Sound ID and I had to right-click “exit” in my lower right taskbar.
I have an open ticket with Sonarworks, so maybe I’ll find out in a bit.
