I’ve had the same setup for quite a few years - Windows 10, Cubase Pro 12, Steinberg UR22 mkII audio interface, and everything worked fine. I have speakers and headphones connected to the UR22 and I could hear playback through both fine, and this was from playback within Cubase as well as in Windows (e.g. WMP, YouTube). Everything went through the UR22 and the sound came out of the studio monitors and/or headphones and I didn’t have to change or set up anything.
A while ago all this changed. The sound is still fine when playing back from Cubase - both speakers and headphones. However, now WMP, YouTube etc. are silent. Weirdly, sound doesn’t even come out through the soundcard.
This is the Sound dialog:
But the speaker icon in the system tray has a red cross next to it and a hover text of No Speakers or Headphones are plugged in.
If I run the troubleshooter I see this (note that the Steinberg device is not listed)

I’ve tried a few different things, such as changing the USB port on the PC but the issue is that:
1. It used to work fine, and I haven’t consciously changed anything in my setup.
2. It works fine when playing back from within Cubase (so there’s nothing wrong with the physical connection) but no longer works outside Cubase.
Thanks
