i am having issues with my external soundcard (Devine Centro 2i20).
When I am using Cubase al of my sounds are suddenly disappearing; even the indicator on the rightbottom (audio activity - main mix output channel) isn’t registering any audio even thouhg 5 seconds before it was.
When I close Cubase and restart it again it is working again and waiting for the moment the sound will be gone again.
I downloaded the latest drivers for the soundcard.
Usually these sort of problems are the connection rather than anything in Cubase.
In Windows - Disable usb selective suspend
Then, in device manager power management for all usb hubs turn off “allow computer to turn off this device to save power”
Make sure you’re using a USB cable, specified for data and short as possible….as usb c is now standard for phones there are many charging cables that are not suitable for realtime audio
I switched to another usb - port and now the problem is (kind of) solved.
90% of the time cubase recognizes the devine centro 2i2o and it is usable.
10% of the times Cubase (out of nothing) cant find the device anymore and switches to the internal soundcard. When I restart the laptop or cubase it works again.
Not the best result possible but I only use the external soundcard for my beatmaking and the rest is VST - based which can run on my internal soundcard…
I have to say Cubase sometimes feels kind of instable lately; out of nothing it decides to forget al my assigned knobs on the midi - keyboard. Again; a restart of everything and it works again….
