Good day
It’s me again
How do I have my Garritan sound libraries (Jazz & Big Band3, Concert & Marching Band2, Instruments for Finale, Garritan Personal Orchestra) and my Session Horns Pro library show up in Dorico as instrument choices?
Did you do a search? I found this, which might help you?
I tried. But …
Here is another:
As you know, otherwise just ask with specifics of where you are and someone will provide you with the next step.
Hope you get it sorted soon.
In Play mode:
- Choose the VST and MIDI tab.
- Use the appropriate plus (+) sign to add a new VST (or use the pull-down to change an existing VST.
- Select the Garritan sub-menu for the Aria Player desired.
Once one assigns the Garritan VST, one can assign instrument sounds to existing voices in the other Play Tab.
I downloaded JABB and GPO. When I open up the window you show, All I see is “—” and “Steinberg”. I see that you have several VST. How do I get Garritan to show up? I have watch videos and read your post, and they all presume that connections have been made between Dorico and Garritan sounds. There is a step I am missing.
Yes. I see and have tried the “+” to add a new VST.
Same thing. All that shows in the drop down is “- - -” and “Steinberg”
No Garritan. How to get Dorico to recognize Aria?
What’s the version number of ARIA (in the Settings tab)?
Also, what folder is your Garritan Aria VST in? If it is a VST3 it would already have installed in a standard folder and show up as a selection, but if it is VST2, you may have to move it into the same folder as the rest of the Dorico VST’s or else point Dorico to the folder Garritan is already in.
In the “Setting Tab”? There is a version under About Aria player. 1959. I downloaded it only about two days ago.
How would I find where it is downloaded? I followed install instructions. It’s brand new. Brand new computer.
Aria player is in Applications. There are two folders in Documents labeled GPO5_Samples & JABB_Samples.
OK It’s the latest version for Windows. Let’s assume everything has been installed correctly. (And you’ve restarted your computer.)
Have you checked in Dorico’s Preferences? I think on Windows there are some options for black/whitelisting plug-ins.
Certainly not WINDOWS. This is a MAC MINI. Black/white listing? Is there some tutorial that doesn’t assume that Dorico is hooked up with a VST and explains HOW to get to that point?
Ah: OK, if you’re on a Mac, then you need a later version for Apple Silicon:
Ben is more likely to help you here, since I am Windows 10 and my folder structure will be different than yours.
Hope you find a way to make things work for you.
Newer version? I just downloaded this 2 days ago. How could that not be the most recent version?
MakeMusic have made a bit of a mess. When they created Apple Silicon builds of Finale and ARIA, they didn’t update the Windows version, leaving it on 1.959; but increasing the Mac version to 2.026.
So, how does this help me. Are you saying I have a windows version?
