when I playback a piece with multiple instruments, it doesn’t sound like the instruments are playing at the same tempo. Doesn’t sound as though the sound is synchronized. Sounds mumbled. Anybody else have this problem? I may have mispoke. What I mean is that the tempo is the same but the timing seems slightly off which creates a mumbled playback and instruments playing over each other.
Hi Steven, and welcome to the forum!
I can only guess what you’re hearing, but I’ll try: Samples can easily sound out of sync in fast music because instruments have different attack times depending on the articulation. French horns and choirs, for example have a slower onset of each note than oboes and trumpets. So with 16th notes they may sound as if they’re not together. Is this what’s happening for you?
Mark:
Thanks for the reply. Yes, that is what is happening. The piece also has some syncopation over or under the 16th notes. So is it just the different attack times? Is there any way to correct that?
Thanks again for your prompt response.
Steve.
