Sound Output to computer detault device

Most programs send audio to the speakers unless headphones are plugged in, then it automatically sends the sound there… is there any way to map the output the computers default output device? I’m using cubase 6.5 (7 soon) and win7.

You can unplug the audio interface, then select the generic ASIO driver in Cubase. I would recommend getting ASIO4ALL if you are going to use the built in sound card though.

There is no way to have Cubase “automatically” switch back and forth (that I know of). You will have to physically go to the devices menu and select the appropriate driver for the desired device.

Thank, I’ll check out that driver. It’s not the end of the world, it’s just annoying because if you unplug the headphones without switching the devices first, Cubase crashes.
