Sound from audio interface suddenly disappears during session. Then, I need to change audio interface setting to “no driver” and then return to original every 10-15 minutes of session. It’s very annoying. It happens with both audio interfaces I own: M-AUDIO fast track pro and fast track ultra 8r. Also, it happens more when I work with midi files than audio files in session. How can I solve a problem? I use Cubase 7.5 with new update. My system is laptop with win7 64-bit optimized for audio, and I use 32-bit version of Cubase.
Hello Zstojkov,
I’ve sent you a private message.
Have you set your computer hardware to “never sleep” as this might cause your usb interface to loose connection if left for a certain time
I have this same issue. I can use a metronome, use a softsynth, but none of my audio tracks are playing back. I tried all of this…
- Rebooted → project still has no audio
- Uninstalled Cubase 7.5.2
- Rebooted
- Installed Cubase 7.5
- Opened project in Cubase 7.5 → project still has no audio
- Upgraded to Cubase 7.5.2
- Rebooted
- Opened project in Cubase 7.5.2 → project still has no audio
I’m totally stuck. Have a trouble ticket into support.
SO have you ever had audio playback in Cubase?
Do you have audio playback outside of Cubase?
What audio device or interface are you using?
Have you gone into device setup and checked/selected the correct driver for it?
Have you gone into vst connections and checked/set up a stereo bus that is connected to the outputs your monitors are connected to?
SO have you ever had audio playback in Cubase?
Yes. Was working fine last week.
Do you have audio playback outside of Cubase?
Yes. All my other audio apps work. Funny thing is I can get the metronome and softsynths to work but all audio is muted. Checked all channels and routing.
What audio device or interface are you using?
I’ve now tried two audio interfaces my RME-HDSPe MADI connected to SSL Alphalink, AND I’ve tried a Focusrite Scarlett 2 channel USB interface. Both have same result.
Have you gone into device setup and checked/selected the correct driver for it?
Yes.
Have you gone into vst connections and checked/set up a stereo bus that is connected to the outputs your monitors are connected to?
Yes. Checked this with both interfaces. Both interfaces work in other apps, and in Cubase I can get metronome and softsynths to work but no other audio.
I also cannot record anymore. Cubase looks like it’s recording but when I hit “Stop”, the audio region just disappears.
This just happened to me. I’ve been running cubase elements 9 for years. Yesterday I was doing a bounce and audio randomly cut out in both session and bounced file. It doesn’t happen in the same place. Just randomly. It is doing it in all my other sessions as well.
Oh, I should also mention that the muting occurs over all the tracks and only lasts for a couple of seconds, then comes back on. If I stop and replay that section, it will be fine. so it is not related to a particular point, just randomly.
