Soundcard drivers work round from Finale to Dorico

Just demoing Dorico (came from Finale) and am loving the speed and ease so far. A couple of crahses when trying to load (add) players but will see how it goes.

So this may be helpful for others re drivers: I have DAW Cakewalk and like to have both this and notation program open at times. Had Dorico open, then opened Cakewalk and it told me my Focusright drivers were incompatible. Indeed the sound was terrible and it ‘lost’ my drivers ion Cakewalk. I closed both programs. Opened Cakewalk, told it to use the now showing Focusright Asio drivers and all well. I then opened Dorico and presto they both work. However…if I then closed Dorico first, Cakewalk drivers stopped working. I think I have to close Cakewalk first.
Hope this helps…1. open DAW 2. open Dorico
Any other ideas welcome
Thanks all for the lovely forum

You might find it’s preferable to set Dorico to use the Steinberg Built-in ASIO Driver and set Cakewalk to use your Focusrite ASIO driver. However, I’m by no means an expert in this area, so that might be bad advice!

I think the problem was that Dorico was not using the Focusrite driver so when it went to Cakewalk it was trying to use the Steinburg one. Will update as I go, thanks for your thought though…I will try lots of different ways.
