Soundtoys

Hi, I’m looking for a Soundtoys solution. The plugins are missing after a supposedly successful install. I’ve recently updated to a mac os 15.3, and from Cubase 11 pro to 14 pro. I’ve noticed since the update, that i have versions 11, 12 and 14 on my system.

I can’t determine the plugins path as the process is automated. No help from Soundtoys either, which is nice.

So you don’t have any softube showing in plugin manager at all?

Or are you talking about opening existing projects and plugs can’t be found (which could be because vst2 are disabled by default in C14 as Steinberg are phasing out support)

The path for vst3 is fixed /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3

If the issue is that you used vst2 previously then you’ll need to enable vst2 scanning in the plugin manager and find the vst2 install path and point it there (or move them to a scanned vst2 folder)

…by self?

I had mis-read Grim’s post so what I said was totally redundant!

Or it could be a custom collection enabled?

Man I ALWAYS forget about the custom list when I install new plugins. I’ll install something, run to open a project I want to try it on and then go “WTF??” :joy:

Hi, It’s a fresh install on a new machine. The plugins are on an iLok key. Soundtoys doesn’t appear to find them on visiting their site.
Install on C14, according to the Soundtoys iLok is successful, yet they aren’t in the plugins folder, or anywhere else

ilok is for licenses….you need to install the plugs separately

Soundtoys doesn’t appear to find them on visiting their site.

What does visiting the site have to do with finding your plugs….can you clarify what you mean by this.

No, the plugins are not on the ilok dongle. The licenses are on the ilok dongle. See them there when you open and log into your dongle?

Next step is to visit the Soundtoys site and manually download the plugin installers themselves….install them on your computer….start up your daw so that the plugins will link to the licenses on the connected ilok dongle.

Hi, yes I tried that but ‘my products ‘ just says “No active licenses found”, that’s with the ilok licenses once again reinstalled.

As you can see your licenses on the ilok dongle but, upon downloading/installing the actual plugins from the installers, the licenses don’t attach/activate…..contact soundtoys support.

Still awaiting their reply… they’re very busy allegedly. Thanks anyway.

Are you sure you’re proceeding correctly?…..

Launch the iLok License Manager application and sign in to your ilok account.

To make sure you can see all of your licenses, first click on your user name so that it highlights in light blue, then click “All Licenses” at the top. You could also click “Available Licenses” which only shows licenses that have an activation available.

Right-click the license to show the activation menu, and click Activate

…….All from within the dongle.
