Awesome! I did not know about this…Just tried it and it worked great
yes, but I want to choose what the interpolated (re-synthesized) audio is based upon. I want to control where the algorithm “looks” to find sufficient information to derive the result I need, minimizing any unwanted characteristics.
Many factors can affect the result of course - we are editing images via transform, so block size and other factors heavily affect the result. Having more control over the algorithm parameters is often the difference between success and failure. Knowing what to do is a huge part of it!
Is there a modifier you can hold to lock the Frequency Repair Tool straight horizontally when drawing?
Don’t think so, it will automatically ’make the ends meet’.
But there is a modifier with the Frequency Pencil tool, like with the eraser.
you probably have to workaround
something like:
comp the area you want to derive the interpolation from>
cut/ copy to another layer>
use heal>
clone stamp and/or Transform to move the area around
cut/copy/mix you interpolated comp
from the manual: “You can click a first point, the press Shift and click a second point. A frequency will be drawn between those two points”
as much fun as that is, timbre gets left in the dust in my messing with it: has to be very subtle (quiet) cuz sound very synthy ![]()
Possibly, but not ideal.
Consider a lip smack closely adjacent to a hihat “click” (to the immediate right of the lip smack). I want to remove the lip smack but not affect the hihat. In that circumstance I would choose Left as the source area for re-synthesis. This is really easy in reNOVAtor and is often the difference between success and failure.
Yeah, try setting the Level to a low value before drawing (or use the Eraser tool with a low dB setting afterwards). And add some harmonics.

yep, thats what I did
I was drawing right over existing harmonics in a song

I would definitely clone stamp this scenario; no question
I do that all the time, with human voice; That said, I don’t do much music at this time
