SpectraLayers 12.0.20 Transcription CRASH NVIDIA 4060 GPU

SpectraLayers Pro 12.0.20 closes when using Transcription and NVIDIA 4060 GPU.

SpectraLayers Pro 11.0.60 works fine with System, AI Processing Device, NVIDIA 4060 GPU enabled.

Thank you in advance for any assistance appreciated to get GPU acceleration working in SL Pro 12.

you are not running 11.0.70? interesting…I stayed on 11.0.60 for a long while as I had an issue with 11.0.70 for a little while

Hi ctreitzell, yea, did not didn’t know there was an upgrade to 11.0.70 as SL Pro seemed to be working ok in 11.0.60.

What issues were you having w/ 11.0.70, what was the resolution?

Thanks for your reply.

@ByronK my issue with 11.0.70 was I felt 0.70 was more sluggish than 0.60…when I dragged mouse from waveform display across the timeline up to tools section (all the time in use!) I felt I might be asking for a crash. I let Robin know here on this forum…

hang on, let me verify…nope, I’m incorrect I stayed on 11.0.40 longer after the release of 11.0.60 as I was talked about around here:

OK, so the way I feel about this sluggish behaviour is it feels like a memory caching issue. After I use a version of SL for a while, performance appears to improve…like caching web pages. And, as of this writing, the best performance I have had is on 12.0.20 trial…which has expired now, so I’m back to 11.0.70. And I will say, 11.0.70 has been great stability-wise for me. Also, I always use SL in standalone.

Just checking in if there is a patch for SpectraLayers not working w/ NVIDIA GPU??

Thank you.

SLP 12 is using larger language models for transcriptions than SLP 11.
Larger models need more GPU memory, like up to 4.5 GB VRAM.

As your 4060 GPU has 8 GB VRAM, this might be too much and the driver crashes SLP.

Try if the low quality setting runs through transcription, it should use about 1.2 GB VRAM.

Also check your driver version and post it here.
Windows updates can also sometimes bork the stability of GPU tasks.

Nvidia provides game ready and studio drivers - latter are more stable but lack latest cutting edge features of the game ready versions.
