SpectraLayers 12 is available! Save 20% on Updates and direct Upgrades from SpectraLayers Go (NEW)!

Dear forum members,

the time has come: SpectraLayers 12 is available today – presented by legendary producer Andrew Scheps!

With more than 25 new features and improvements in almost every area of the program, SpectraLayers 12 is a must-have update. The focus of SpectraLayers 12 is on new, practical unmix functions, a significant increase in unmix quality in many modules, and long-awaited editing functions that significantly simplify and accelerate audio editing in the spectral domain.

The DeNoise, Transcription, Noisy Speech, Drums, and Unmix Song modules have been dramatically improved. And there are new modules such as Unmix Soundtrack (particularly useful for post-production), Voice Enhance (with AI reconstruction), and the new Unmix Instrument Module, which allows you to individually register your own instruments.

All this and much more can be discovered in SpectraLayers 12.

More information and purchasing information is available on the SpectraLayers product website:

New feature highlights:

For the very first time we also offer a direct upgrade path from SpectraLayers Go to Pro!
During the release phase of SpectraLayers 12 we are offering a 20% discount on all updates from previous versions and the upgrade to SpectraLayers Go!

How long will that offer last?
I made a mistake and bought the full version instead of the upgrade, so waiting for a refund. I contacted both fastspring and onlineshop-support.

Will there be a pdf-manual available ( at least english, but also in german ? ).

“Online”-help is unsatisfying, especially if no internet available.

Installer “SpectraLayers Pro 12” (Upgrade in my case) is not available after purchase and insertion of the Download Access Code. How to install it?

Hello Det,

Hi Timo,
after closing and re-opening the Steinberg Download Assistant the installer worked.
Thanks for your reply!

Hi Timo,

I have a WL voucher for SL12 Pro, but it seems that I cannot apply it.
When I click on Redeem, nothing happens, when I copy-paste the voucher, the price remains the same.

Maybe I’ve made a mistake - but does “Upgrade from SpectraLayers Go” include the version that’s bundled with Cubase 14 Pro?

I’ve done the same thing!

Yes. For confirmation, see the link below.

Unless something has changed recently, SpectraLayers Go is not available as a standalone product.

Same here. After close and reopen it was there.

The problem @Detgyver had may be a common one. Here is what I saw (slightly different from what others have described). Note that this is for an upgrade from SpectraLayers Pro 11, not a new purchase, and it is on Windows 10:

After purchasing and going into Download Assistant, I entered my download access code via the Redeem Code, and it acknowledged that it was adding the upgrade, but SpectraLayers Pro 12 did not show up in My Products (SpectraLayers 11 still does, and it showed up as Installed at V11.0.70, which is as expected). SpectraLayers Pro 12 was available in the All Products section.

I restarted Download Assistant, hoping that the restart would refresh My Products, but, unlike the experience mentioned by others, it still did not. I reentered the download access code as before (in the event my doing it the first time didn’t “stick”), and it gave the same acknowledgement as before, but, again, SpectraLayers Pro 12 did not show up in My Products. (I think I again restarted Download Assistant to give it one more chance at refreshing, but I’m not positive on that.)

I decided to install SpectraLayers Pro 12 from the All Products section, and it installed just fine. I was then able to activate it via Activation Manager, and I’ve verified that it does run, both as standalone and as the SpectraLayers extension within Cubase Pro 14. However, it still does not show up in My Products within Download Assistant.

While the net is that it installed okay, I do wonder whether the issue with its showing up in My Products will ultimately get resolved (which could be a convenience factor as updates arrive).

One thing that may be worth mentioning that could be “special” about my case: I originally purchased and activated SpectraLayers Pro 11 prior to when my trial of that software expired. At some point (assumedly after the trial period had expired) SpectraLayers stopped working as an ARA extension in Cubase, though the standalone version still worked. I ended up having to uninstall SpectraLayers Pro entirely, then reinstall it, to get it working in Cubase again. So maybe there was some weird “something” (possibly relating to have activated what was originally a trial version) that is affecting this???

@rickpaul
I have the same issue in SDA but I guess that is a temporary glitch.
SL 12 is installed, activated and works like a charm.

+1 - another thread indicated that it took a few hours for theirs to show up in My Products.

No biggie at all for me since I’m up and running, but certainly a hiccup in the initial process.

This is what I assumed, but I get the following (I have Cubase 14 Pro):

you entered a download access code for a product upgrade, but you do not own a license to which this upgrade can be applied

Can you help, @TimoWildenhain?

Is the voucher from the WaveLab promotion still valid for SpectralLayers 12? I can apply it, but the price doesn’t change.
