It seems Steinberg accidentally uploaded and quickly removed a video for SpectraLayers Pro 12. I got a quick notification, and I even saw Andrew Scheps in it!

I know⌠Iâm at the same point. I just bought WaveLab a few days ago⌠I was complaining about Cubase, and now this⌠I also say that SL 11 is very good! And Iâm sure SL 12 will come out.

I have a coupon for Spectralayers Pro, because I purchased Wavelab, can I use that coupon to upgrade to Spectralayers 12, if I already have version 11 Pro?

I have bought Spectra Layers 11 Pro 17 days ago but didnât activate yet. If Iâll wait till 25th with activation will I get 12 then without the need to upgrade?

The 25th is only the date of the announcement.
We donât yet know the release date.
Note specifically where it says:
If you have an unused Download Access Code [âŚ], it is also possible that you will receive the latest version for free.

Well, in the invitation email to join the live stream on June 25th it is clearly written that all users who are eligible to receive the 40% discount for purchasing SL11 Pro now will automatically receive the free upgrade to SL12 Pro in their Steinberg account after the product has has been released.
Ah OK, I didnât get that email (not a new user), but that seems clear.
Usually, until the release date is known, itâs not possible to know when the grace period begins. Holding off using a DAC until after the release date will always get the newer version, however there is a small risk of missing out on the grace period upgrade if it is used before the release date.
That email seems to eliminate the risk for those who received it.
Did you get a different email than the one posted by @Vranq? Because what youâve said above is very different than what is in that email. The 40% voucher I have is good to âpurchase a full version of SpectraLayers Pro with a discount of 40% off the regular retail price until July 16, 2025.â Meaning, if SL12 doesnât ship by 07/16/25, you canât use the voucher. If youâve already purchased SL using the voucher and have activated after the grace period, then you get the free upgrade.
Just making sure because qualifying anyone who is âeligible to receive the 40% discount [voucher]â is just about everyone, and no, they wonât get SL12 for free. Activations within the grace period will.
I would think most people here already own some manner of Pro, which will be cheaper to upgrade anyway.
I got this email (which is in German). The wording is 100% clear to me, as it leaves no doubt about the fact that every WL12 Pro user - buying SL11 Pro by using the provided 40% vaucher- also gets the free update to SL12 when itâs out.
EDIT:
Please especially note the remark at the beginning of the email notification:
In fact, translated it says âThe Grace Period has already begun.â
In other words, as I said before, if youâre buying and activating SL11 Pro NOW already, you also should get the free SL12 Pro update.
