ooh, no, I do not agree; this is by design and expected behaviour IME
what does @Sunnyman want here? for the Overview Bar lozenge to grow when playhead travels to beyond the current display zoom (Overview Bar range)?..for the zoom to change and resize the Overview Bar?
“It should scroll”? What should “scroll”? The display should follow the playhead no matter what? So, playhead animates farthest to the right and should move the display along and playhead animates again from left and so on? No, that would drive me bonkers with the work I do. If that was user definable, OK.
I actually wouldn’t mind setting the playhead to stop outside of current zoom view (Overview Bar) with a marker…but a keyboard shortcut is reasonably effective as it is
I wrestled the mute/ solo functionality in my early teething (last year)…I get it now…but thenagain I don’t spend a lot of time “moving too fast”…because it is movement that is “too fast”
the stuff we can do with SL is amazing…it just takes a lot of teething and learning
This sounds like “The milk is sour, but it’s still drinkable.” There are people, who are satisfied with this and others, which are not. I definetely belong into the later category.
Another one for the pile AMD 7600XT , unmix song giving blank stems.
Haven’t tried just using CPU , tbh right now, SL11 is working flawlessly i’ll wait for a fix.
Why wasn’t this tried n tested in Beta ? Were there any AMD GFX users in the beta team ? Seems not. Well I think you have a bunch of us willing to test in future.
My system is NVDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti; Intel i7-8700 @ 3.20 GHz; RAM 64 GB; Windows 11Pro, 24H2
I have tested the GPU and CPU use. It looks like with none of the settings (auto, GPU, CPU) the GPU is used. Then I did the same test with SL11 and and the GPU did the job as expected.
Sl Pro 12 failed to download and install with SDA on Windows 10 machine. Saw “corrupted file” message after manually double clicking the install file.
Deleted the downloaded files and tried SDA a second time and saw the same error.
This is the second time in about two month when an install error using SDA happened. The last time was with Cubase 14 Pro and an update to HALion. The HALion file was the wrong revision.
Please ensure that a Windows Restore Point is automatically created every time SDA updates anything (even itself). I am now manually creating a Restore Point before I open SDA since some updates happen with no warning (e.g. MediaBay).
I hope that Steinberg is NOT using AI for software development tasks. This is starting to feel like the recent increase is MS problems.
When will Cubase and the other apps be available on Linux Ubuntu?
When copying a full layer to another one not all data is copied in the 1st run, 2 or more runs are needed, especially below 100Hz.
NVDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti; Intel i7-8700 @ 3.20 GHz; RAM 64 GB; Windows 11Pro, 24H2
seems a strange thread for this…
I don’t have SL12, but in SL10 and 11, depends upon the selection tool whether all selection data is saved to the target layer
My system is NVDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12GB; Intel i9-9900K @ 3.20 GHz; RAM 64 GB; Windows 11Pro, 24H2, CUBASE 14 PRO with latest Update.
First time user of SL, Seems to not take full advantage of CPU or GPU. Crashes easily, very slow to stem tracks and lags a lot… Not sure this is usable for me at this point…
Other notice is wouldn’t it be good to show what we are editing (selection) in clear and show not selected in greyed out? would make it much easier to work with.
hoping this gets better as it is an amazing tool
NOTE : I will consider a refund if I cant use it and keep an eye on the evolution, bug fixes etc…
Year, seems like SL v12 has been - at least partially - programmed with AI…^
There are so many bugs and glitches, those can not be all done by an experianced human being.
I’m having the same issue, with both wav and flac files. Windows 11 24H2, build 26100.4484. System is Ryzen 9950X, with AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT video card. I notified support almost a week ago. Got very little traction, apart from advice to recreate preferences and re-install.
@Sunnyman I dont mean to derail the topic but I laughed so hard when I read this.
If Spectralayers 12 was programmed with A.I. then wouldn’t it make sense to also use A.I. for debugging (so A.I. can find all the bugs and squash them)?
Year, great idea. Going over and over it. The final code will be something like the spectrum of the code-matrix.
Honestly, there are so many glitches in this first release, which I just can not imagine a professional makes.
It might be the business management takes over and says: “Ok, lets use AI for the coding. It’s much faster and cheaper. If it ain’t workt perfect, it doesn’t matter. We’ll fix it afterwards… so what?”
This release is a disaster and Steinberg should fix it fast. When the news of all the bugs difuse into the mainstream media like YouTube and others, it might scratch a bit on the reputation of Steinberg.
It might be a real problem, when AI produces thousands of lines of code, which seem correct, but are actually not. To find those errors is really hard.
