Now understood thanks -but other vendor’s applications sometimes have a single licence activation which then allows multiple installations. Anyway, all fixed now! 
Up to three activations can be used at one time.
Just following up: when will Steinberg be offering a Trial version of SL13? I have SL12 but I just want to make sure that there are improvements in unmixing. Thanks!

PS- It would be so nice if Steinberg could do a tutorial on the Unmix Instrument module. The Help instructions are very cryptic and it has not worked, even when I was able to get a very long sample of the instrument.
I have watched all of these. Here’s the thing: these demos were likely made from high-quality, high-signal, compressed tracks. in other words, highly optimized original tracks. That is great. But I am working with old, analog tape transfers.
The Unmix Instrument Module is a separate module. Steinberg claims that you can sample 3 seconds (or more) of an instrument on a mix, and this module will extract that instrument. I’ve tried this, and I cannot get it to work. Steinberg does not have a tutorial on this module. Also, when I say “tutorial” I mean an in-depth video, not just a sales pitch. Real life problems are not always perfect. Sorry to complain, but Logic Pro is still separating my stems far better and faster than SLP.

It does and it is in the video that I posted. The Unmix Instrument module starts at 9:45 and runs for about 2:15. There were problems with the unmix as some of each of the two instruments bled into each layers. The tutorial shows how to fix this using other tools. I don’t see how the tutorial could show more in-depth about how to use the Unmix Instrument module. There is very little that can be done other than what the guy showed. Maybe have another 15 seconds showing unmixing with more than 2 instruments, but I don’t see why, as the process is the same. I did not see this is as a sales pitch - the guy shows how to use the module and how to use it.
Obviously, if there are problems with the results, then you have to use other tools to fix them.
Looking at some of the other Steinberg tutorials, they use very old, noisy, damaged and difficult recordings, definitely not high-quality, high-signal…tracks.
Like you, most of the recordings that I am trying to fix were poorly recorded, usually analog (audio cassettes, VHS tape), have background noise, several people talking at once, talking over the main person, a clock ticking and music playing in the background, distortion, reverb, plus other noise, depending on the recording. I play with the various tools available to try to get something usable.

After my last post, I did spend quite some time testing out the Unmix Instrument module. Sorry to say, for my project, it just did not work to my satisfaction. It’s a long story, but essentially: on my M4 Studio Mac, the Unmix Modules process very slow, maybe 3 minutes for each unmix process of a 3 minute song. Additionally, the Unmix Song Module never actually successfully isolates the guitars from my song, so this necessitates isolating just the Vocals, and then trying many Unmix passes to isolate the guitars and other instruments. Ironically, the tutorial that you sent that described the Unmix Module, was almost identical to mine, I am trying to separate a string track from the guitars; except mine is not working. I have to compare this to Logic Pro stem separation, which did a far better job in just a few seconds. (Not a perfect job, but better and faster). Again, I hate to report this, but that has been my experience.
