Because I received a final mix and I have to rework a guitar part. I try to do it by opening SpectraLayers to separate the tracks but I have the “spinball” which turns non-stop and it does not open. I am looking for the reason without finding. Any idea? (MacbookPro 2.3GHz - 16 ram - Cubase Pro 13.0.50))
What OS?
Sonoma 14.6.1
Ok. Should work (if it is SL11).
No apps running in the background?
Have you tried to de-install SpectraLayers (and preferences) and made a fresh reinstallation?
No I’m new user of Cubase. I would like your help for this. No apps is running in the background. Tks for the following…
Is that the SpectraLayers that comes free with Cubase?
Yes it is.
Ok. I’m afraid this stripped down version of SpectraLayers can’t unmix anything more than vocals from a full mix; that is, you can’t use it to separate out the guitar and fix it. There is a comparison chart for the different versions of SL at Steinberg’s main site. The free version ”SpectraLayers One” is now called ”SpectraLayers Go”, since Cubase 14.
But this doesn’t explain why you can’t open your SL as an ARA extension inside Cubase. I have no clues, I’m afraid.
Ok tks again for your help.
plus unmixing guitars is maybe not so attainable (yet) in SL Pro, either!
Vocal separation is what SL Pro is very good at…Unmix Noisy Speech module is a requirement for my work.
OK thank you for this information.
