Spectralayers Opens very slowly

Cubase Pro 11.0.41 - Windows 10
Ever since updating from 9.0 to 9.0.10 Spectralayers has been opening very slowly. Like almost a full minute to open. Once it’s open it works fine.
This happens with the stand alone version as well as when opening it as an extension in Cubase. And it happens whether I’m opening with a file or just as an empty project.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled but that has not solved the problem.

Both SL 8 , and 9.0 opened quickly.

Anybody else?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Looks like it’s due to Steinberg Activation Manager taking too long to respond…

Thanks for the reply!
Is there a way for me to fix that or is it something that Steinberg has to fix?

Can I fix this?
Is there an update that fixes this?
Thanks,
-mike

@Mike_McCormick Steinberg Activation Manager 1.4 is coming soon and is faster to load, according to the changelog.

Excellent! Thanks so much for the information!

Robin,
I have updated to 1.4 and here’s what I have found.
Steinberg Activation Manager 1.4 is a bit faster but still very slow.
However, Spectralayers launches really fast if my computer is hooked up to the Internet and really slow if it’s not.

@Mike_McCormick Thanks for reporting the finding. I suppose SAM is still trying to connect to the internet and wait for 30sec or so before giving up.
@Ben_at_Steinberg

We’re aware of an issue with Steinberg Activation Manager that means it may be trying to refresh the list of licenses when it doesn’t need to which should be fixed in the next update.

Sorry for the inconvenience!
