SpectraLayers Pro 13: DeClip alters the entire audio and severely degrades sound quality

I am experiencing an issue with the DeClip module in SpectraLayers Pro 13. When I apply it, the processing appears to alter the entire audio, including sections below the selected threshold, and severely degrades the sound quality. I expected it to reconstruct the clipped peaks while largely preserving the rest of the recording.

I have tried the following settings, but the issue persists:

  • Reconstruction Ratio: 100% and 80%.

  • Threshold: −0.1 dB and several other values.

  • Limiter: both enabled and disabled.

My software and system specifications are:

  • Software: SpectraLayers Pro 13.0.30, Build 460 (x86_64), built on October 10, 2026.

  • Laptop: Lenovo Legion Pro 5i, 16-inch.

  • Processor: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX.

  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060.

  • RAM: 32 GB.

  • Storage: 1 TB.

  • Operating system: Windows 11 Home.

  • Audio hardware: Realtek(R) Audio.

  • Audio driver version: 6.0.9882.1.

Could you please advise whether this is expected behaviour, a settings issue, or a possible bug? What settings should I use to repair clipped peaks while preserving the unaffected audio?

There are many algorithms, modules and parameters in SL, that definetely need a much much much clearer documentation of what they are doing or supposed to do exactly!
Otherwise, they rather seem like a kind of snake oil in a sophisticated camouflage, imho.

I’m also having trouble with that module. Not so with voice declip, which works perfectly.

Declip with music content or music and voice, doesn’t work well and effectively degrades the audio; it reminds me of a 40 kbps MP3.

Agreed. This is one of the modules I have never been able to use in a satisfactory manner.

Maybe we should tag @Robin_Lobel ^^

Thanks for reporting. This is now fixed in the upcoming patch 4.
