I am new to Spectral Layers 12 & have tried to Separate stems using Unmix Song. I’m on a MacStudio w/ 128 GB Ram + 99GB of disc space running Monterey 12.7.6. I have successfully separated stems on two separate projects, but I’m having trouble syncing them to the original tracks in my Ableton Live 12 Suite - version 12.2.1 - Stems from the same Unmix Song, when placed in the original product are not in sync with the speed (120BPM). The most problematic is the separated Vocal track which is now shorter than the length of the vocal track on the actual stereo mix - I am trying to bring out the vocal from the stereo mix, but suddenly, my 5:30 stereo mix has a shorter (4:30) Vocal playing back out of sync & too fast! Oddly, if I play the separated .wav file of Vocal, it plays back correctly - in sync with the unseparated stereo tracks. Then, as soon as I drop that Vocal stem into my stereo mix on another track - it’s back to 4:30 & too fast! Oddly the other separated tracks are all seemingly in sync. The other Live Project has a similar issue with only the Vocal track, but not as severe. What’s going on here? The separations sound better than other stem programs, but losing Sync on Vocals is a BIG PROBLEM! HELP
Are the both projects sample rate same?
I guess I should have included that info - Both are at 16 bit & 44.1 Hz - I’m wondering if SpectralLayers 12 allows these choices in the application. I see 44100 Hz Stereo at the bottom left in SpectralLayers 12 screen, but not 16 bit anyplace.
I contacted Sweetwater Tech Support & Jared knew exactly what to do! He made me open Ableton Live’s Settings & asked about a setting in the 'Record, Warp & Launch listing in Settings. Apparently, in the ‘Loop/Warp. Short Samples’ listing, it was set to ‘Auto’. He told me to change that setting, which I was able to do from ‘On’ to ‘Off’ in the Box Below which states - ‘Auto-Warp Long Samples’! That was it - now the Stems play in Sync - such an obscure setting, but. thankfully, he knew it!
