you gonna pay 49 just to bring C6 mixer
LOL
Have you ever used Studio One v2.5 yourself?
yes. together with C7, 24/7.
winner for me: C7.
Why?
To explain all non-existing features in S1 would go beyond the scope of this thread.
But generally I can say: try it yourself!
the major drawback in S1 is the lack of score editor (for me), ofcourse there are others to probably(the list u gave ) but cubase lacks other useful functions and workflow available in S1(just from what i saw in videos of S1)
anyway hope to see today what’s new in C7.5 !
Er…well Erm
Track versions and track visibility=good additions
Is this a joke? You announce it but won’t sell it until Dec. 4th? No matter, none of the “features” are worth the dosh to me. Talk about lack luster.
Presonus bought Notion a few months ago, so the lack of notation will probably change.
Despite the fact Studo One isn’t fully on par compared to Cubase (mainly MIDI), I think (some) long time Cubase users will appreciate the way of thinking in Studio One. After all the founders and current developers took some crucial part in the development of Cubase and VST technology and the creation of Nuendo.
I use both Cubase and Studio One and for me there’s no clear winner yet.
But writing Studio One off due to an outdated, partially wrong list that doesn’t show the S1 pro’s (Project Page, Track Transform, DDP Export, ARA, Bounce in place, virtually ulimited inserts/send, fx chains that can be combined, instant channel mode switching, group audio warp etc.) is a bit blunt IMO.
$10 update don’t?
That looks like an amazing update to me, I wish I could get all that in my 6.5 instead of 7…
the sync’ing of the mixer with the arrange (=hiding tracks in the arrange) is great indeed, much requested all over the place, so that’s a good sign! i hope there are keycommands assignable to this (ie. select two channels in the arrange, press a KC, and have every other channel hide in both arrange and the mixer; then toggle that back with another KC).
i wish there was a legacy switch to the old mixer because the rest seems nice now :]
also the ‘more QC assigned to a single knob’ issue is still pending, for years now… so easy to implement, too. i hope track reordering in the mixer, less bulky control room, some step sequencer, built-in sampler and more flexible midi assignments akin to ableton’s macro control is coming in 8.
Exactly, I’d be all over this if it wasn’t for the Cubase 7 mixer.
don´t agree. Surprisingly, now I am enjoying the redesign and workflow of Cubase 7.06
A long time ago I posted elsewhere in the forums that I thought the new version of Cubase looked like a mess and that the Cubase workflow was still overly complicated. Well, I spoke a bit too soon. On a lark, I upgraded to 7 from 6. There are some surprising very good things there - I love it a lot - and use it 24/7 nowadays.
And theses days I I recommend the new Mix Console V7.
i dont get the tab to transient, that’s there already in cubase 6. the only difference is that it analyzes the transients automatically, which you can do in C6 with one keycommand (and not have the CPU bother with it automatically upon import). that’s a downgrade if that cannot be switched off. it’s like ‘introducing’ the audiowarp button in 6.5 when it had already been there, just as a command you could find in the keycommands. look through the keycommand assignable commands now, and you find the c8 ‘new features’ by the same logic?
Have there been any pricing announcements? I own 6.5 and am wondering what the cost would be if I wanted to upgrade.
49 euros from Cubase 7 to 7.5 according to Steinberg post on facebook. ed
