What are you trying to start the trial for which software on which OS and with which hardware… bla bla bla, you get the point…

I was trying to start the free trial of Cubase 14 as its a program i have seen before it took hours to download and i think its now on here but cannot open it ,

this laptop that i have just bought for the job is Elitebook intel Vpro i think its on win11

Did you start the trial on the Steinberg Website? In that case you should have received a mail with a Download Access Code. That needs to be entered in the Steinberg Download Assistant and that will activate your trial.

In case you did that, there is another utility named Activation Manager, open it and look for the Cubase trial. In case it is not activated click the button next to it and activate it there.

have no code and no mail from them but it tells me my trial time has started I am totally confused

You need to be a little bit more detailed.

Where does it tell you the time has started? Can you show a screenshot of the Activation Manager?

Thank you for your help it seems to have sorted itself out now I have no idea how or why so I am just going to play with it:)
