Spitfire Symphony Orchestra (SSO) playback template or expression map

Hey Everyone:

I’ve done my due diligence and followed a bunch of youtube tutorials.

But:

Am I the only person struggling to get an expression map working for SSO?

At best only some articulations get triggered, the wrong ones get triggered, two articulations are triggered at the same time, or they simply don’t work.

Again I have tried to be thorough in my online search but I simply cannot get SSO to work properly despite spending a lot of time researching.

No one would happen to have access to an SSO 2024 playback template?

Shore.

Yes…
Here’s one for the oboe – I found that I haven’t exported all my SSO XP maps so that’s something to do tomorrow maybe. Meantime, as far as I know, this works fine. Hopefully it’ll point the way for you.

Thank you so much @Marcabru !!!

Downloaded and I’ll scope it out for what I can learn!!!

Take care

There is an alternative method that is proprietary to Spitfire, which is possibly more consistent from instrument to instrument, but I don’t use Spitfire stuff enough to be worth the time to learn.

Also, there is an archive of expression maps somewhere in the forum, and you might find a complete set there.

I’d strongly recommend using the Spitfire UACC system which in my experience with the Spitfire Chamber strings gives pretty reliable articulation mapping with my own map. The whole point of this system is that the patches are supposed to be mutually exclusive.

I don’t yet have the SSO, though am considering acquiring it at some stage (the sheer size means it would require a new hard drive…). If you can’t find Expression maps which work for you on the forum, then you could always see if my ones are any use - I think but can’t confirm that the orchestral strings use a vaguely similar mapping. Much the best would of course be a playback template for the whole library.
