Is there a way in Cubase or maybe a macro than can be created to split the audio at the cursor and delete audio to the left/right of it?

find the needed key commands and make macros:
Split and delete right:
- Split at Cursor
- Delete
Split and delete left:
- Split at Cursor
- Left
- Delete

Well - I’m embarrassed:
I was just digging around in the key commands while working on something else and found there seems to be a command to do this without a Macro: Using Cut Head and Cut Tail

yes was just about to say, it was introduced in 10.5
